A new yoga studio called Thrive Yoga has taken root in the Evergreen shopping mall in Willits. It is located in the former yoga studio. The lobby gives people a clean and open feeling. The windows are frosted, making the space feel bright and airy, while providing customers with some privacy. The studio itself is fresh and moderate in size.

The owner, Shawna Jeavons, owned the studio under the name of Hot Yoga Willits before becoming our yoga studio, but unfortunately, the studio was closed due to the global pandemic. Before the reopening, Jeavons explained that she was just laying and painting the new floor on the new floor. She also had to do a lot of invisible work, such as hammering the floor with a jack to repair the pipes below. Through the reconstruction process, the building complies with ADA standards. The renovation process will take approximately six months to complete.

Jeavons explained that the biggest change in this space is the couple's massage room, which, as the name suggests, has two massage beds. The men's locker room is finishing work. The women's changing room is equipped with a massage shower area, which complies with ADA standards, and can place a wet salt scrub massage table.

The different courses offered by Thrive Yoga include: Hot Pilates, Hot Yoga and Hot Flow Yoga. Jeavons teaches hot yoga classes by himself, and four other instructors are also teaching.

Customers are welcome to bring their own supplies, but Thrive provides cushion and towel rental services, as well as cushions, water and some clothes sold in the lobby.

Jeavons has lived in Willits intermittently since he was 5 years old and has been a yoga instructor since 2005. Need a mentor.

Jeavons explained that the motivation for opening Thrive Yoga is because she is doing a 30-day yoga challenge, and driving her Toyota Tundra to Ukiah every day, spending a lot of money on gas. She said: “I promised myself that, in any case, there is no excuse. I will complete 30 yoga classes within 30 days.” The cost of driving to Ukiah to attend the class is significantly higher than the cost of the class itself. At about the same time, the landlord asked her if she wanted to enter the Hot Yoga Willits space she had previously owned. She said, "I thought, yes! Good time."

Jeavons said of the opening of the studio: "I think people are really happy. We have been isolated for so long. I think education and physical fitness can be very social things."

Covid safety precautions are in place, including non-contact temperature readers, where customers can take their body temperature in the lobby before entering the classroom. There is a medical-grade air purifier in the studio, and customers separate their cushions by six feet. Extensive cleaning measures have also been taken.

The grand opening is planned for November, and catering services will be provided locally. In addition to running a yoga studio and raising children, Jevons also teaches in the Willett Unified School District and is completing a sports certificate from Humboldt State University.
