Game-changing technology is creating a new type of sports bra that not only supports you during exercise, but also looks great.

If finding the right sports bra seems like an impossible task, then you are not alone. Studies have shown that as many as 88% of young women wear sports bras that do not fit well, and 85% of them cannot pass a simple bra fit knowledge test. In essence, we have a lot to learn.

Dr. Joanna Wakefield-Scurr, a professor of biometrics at the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, said, “Many people don’t notice, but when you run or exercise, your breasts will not only move up but down, they will also move left and right. In and out."

Wakefield-Scurr is a member of the Under Armour Infinity bra development team, which uses liquid injection foam in the shape of an infinity symbol to support the natural shape of the breasts during exercise.

In addition to technology, clever design is also used to provide more comfort and support. For example, Rockwear's Velocity Zip sports bra-with a zipper on the front-eliminates the hassle of trying to fit a tight compression bra on the head.

But which is the best? Deirdre McGhee, an associate professor at the Australian Breast Research Centre, said that there is no sports bra that fits all women's different breast and torso sizes. To this end, she developed a sports bra tool (you can find it here) to guide women of all shapes to choose a bra that is supportive, comfortable and fit.

However, McGhee said there are some general guidelines to keep in mind when choosing a bra:

"The strap must be made of high-quality elastic band."

"Choose a cup that completely covers your breasts-near the armpits and the top of each breast."

"The underwire must be on the front of the breastbone and on the ribs near the armpits, not on any breast tissue. If this is not possible, choose a sports bra without underwire."

"Materials that absorb moisture and wick away sweat are the best."

"Women with larger breasts may need to wear two bras to get adequate breast support."

If you have ever experienced sweating, bruising, irritation or infection in your genitals, you will understand the importance of choosing the right underwear for exercise. The following is what the experts say.

Peach Underwear founder Emily Redmond recommends “seamless fabric. It is smooth, stretchy and fits your body, so it can move with you. More importantly, it wicks sweat.” For low-intensity exercise, Redmond De recommends choosing natural fabrics such as cotton to increase breathability and help prevent infection.

"Shape is very important," said Bonds designer Charlotte O'Carrigan. "We recommend using thongs to avoid obvious panty lines, or a tall bikini with flat leg lines, so that it fits your body in all suitable places and does not move when you exercise."

Redmond concluded: "If you prioritize comfort and ensure that the fabric absorbs moisture and wicks sweat, then you can successfully find the perfect fitness underwear."
