Might there be mutual interest for a Michael Conforto reunion with the Mets? Mike believes that for the Amazin’s there is certainly interest:

“Conforto is a great fit from the Mets standpoint…take away his final year with the team and the injury last year, and you look outside Canha, Nimmo, and Marte the Mets have Khalil Lee who no one wanted when they tried to trade him at the deadline last year, and then no one else. Really, the Mets fourth outfielder right now is Jeff McNeil so that just gives you an idea of where their depth is right now, there is no outfield depth. Conforto obviously improves that…he compliments Canha’s right-handed bat well and it would give the Mets another option at DH. In terms of a deal, I think it would be a short-term type in the one or two-year range, but I think the thing that will make it not happen for the Mets is that Conforto will look for everyday playing time. Given that he missed all of last season, it certainly is better for him to go somewhere where a team will put him in right field every day and just play.”
