The Jamestown High School Wrestling Team opened on December 4th with the Columbus Cavaliers Wrestling Championship.

Hannah Sjostrom and Paris Eslick were the first champions of the high school women's wrestling championship that was approved for the first time in North Dakota's history. Eslik won the heavyweight championship, Mackenzie Finch, with a pin at the Grand Forks Center.

Sjostrom won a 190-pound bracket.

For boys, Preston Gal also won the honor of top wrestler. Gal won a 182-pound bracket. The junior's current record this season is 4-0.

Three Blue Jays wrestlers were awarded the best athlete of the week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.

The club also selected two student athletes from Jamestown University to award AOW honors.

Sarah Lentz is a freshman on the UJ women's basketball team. In Jimmy's three victories last week, he made 14 of 29 three-pointers from the field. Lentz, who came off the bench, averaged 14.6 points per game. Freshman made 2 of 2 shots from the free throw line and grabbed 10 rebounds in three games.

John Argue spent an unforgettable night in the 91-88 GPAC victory over Hastings at Harold Newman Arena on Saturday night. The second-year forward Agger of the Jimmys basketball team scored 36 points, 27 of which were scored in the second half. The sophomore made 14 of 19 shots, including 3 of 4 three-pointers. He made 5 free throws, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
